If you have already jumped aboard the competition train, take the workshop again as a refresher course and learn about PPA’s competition changes in 2023.
The Print Competition College Workshop will prepare you to enter the Professional Photographers Association’s image competitions through a deep dive into PPA’s competition processes. This workshop is for every photographer who wants to take their photography to the next level, even if you think you aren’t ready to enter your images into competitions. However, by entering PPA’s print competition, you have the opportunity to earn a PPA degree, advance your knowledge and skills, gain respect and recognition as a professional photographer from your clients and peers, and most importantly of all, increase your business’s bottom line.
In this workshop, Larry will:
Help you understand strategies, rules, and processes for succeeding in PPA’s image competitions; understand the
Enable you to feel confident about entering PPA’s competitions
Understand the differences between local, state, and PPA competitions
Understand how to earn PPA merits, why they matter, and be able to distinguish between each type of merit
Understand the types of PPA degrees and the requirements necessary to earn each degree
Have a better understanding of the 12 Elements of a Merit Image
Understand the importance of color management in image competition
Learn how to apply borders to an image competition image
What to bring with you: bring materials to take notes. If you would like to follow along in Photoshop for the part about image presentation (borders and strokes), bring a fully charged laptop and an optional extension cord. Access to power will depend on our location.
