Amber Damour
Painterly Portraiture & Post Processing with Amber Damour
Amber will dive deep into how to create unique storytelling painterly portraits. She will guide you through the conception of an idea & how to flex your creative muscles to bring that idea to life through intricate post processing. For outdoor portraiture, she will discuss how to find the right natural available light to suit your subject matter as well as camera settings & lens choices to help create the correct canvas for painterly images. From there, she will move through advanced skin retouching, background adjustments, color grading, painterly touches, adding depth & dimension to your images & more.
Attendees can bring laptops if they want to follow along or take electronic notes but they can also just take notes on paper if they’d like. They should have an intermediate level of Photoshop knowledge like understanding masks and layers
Amber is an active member of the Dallas Professional Photographer’s Association, Texas Professional Photographer’s Association, and the PPA.

Rick Avalos – Posing Workshop
In this workshop, learn the poses from a Master photographer. See how his lighting is set up and how Rick poses his clients.
Rick has lectured and judged at the regional and national level as well as in Mexico and Spain. His images have been recognized by receiving many Kodak “Gallery Awards” and Fuji “Masterpiece Awards”. In addition, Rick’s photographs have been displayed at Disneyworld’s EPCOT Center, Photokina in Cologne, Germany and in Korea at Imaging Asia 2005. He holds the Photographic, Educational, and Service Fellowship degrees from the Professional Photographers of Colorado. Rick’s service to the photographic industry has been acknowledged by his peers who have awarded him the coveted National Award from the Professional Photographers of Colorado and the Duncan MacNab Service Award from the Rocky Mountain Professional Photographers Association. In 2012 Rick was honored by the Professional Photographers of Colorado with the Lifetime Achievement Award.

He will use principles and best practices from both the photography industry and mainstream businesses that thrive.
Bryan Welsh, a second-generation photographer, is recognized for his creative stylized journalistic photography to both his clients and peers. Bryan has taught at the Professional Photographers of America national convention IUSA, PPA Super One Days and to State and Local PPA photography affiliates across the country.

Free to attend, watch and listen to the judges score our submitted entries.
Image Submissions: Members pay $65 for up to 6 images. Non-members pay $75 for up to 6 images. You may add up to 2 more images for $10 each. A maximum of 8 images is allowed.
