This event is PPA approved for Continuing Education Program. PPA members will receive 1 merit for attending this class.

Environmental Business Portraits – Beyond the Headshot with Bryan Welsh Come learn from Commercial Portrait Photographer Bryan Welsh as he shares his program on how to take your business portraits to another level. As the industry changed so did Bryan’s photography business. Once primarily known as Wedding and H.S. Senior photographer he made the transition into a Business and Family photographer.

This workshop will cover how to market and become the go to business branding photographer in your area. Bryan will also have a lighting demonstration so you can see this style of photography in action.

Bryan Welsh PPA M. Photog., Cr., CPP, API. FP-OR

Bryan Welsh, a second-generation photographer, is recognized for his creative stylized journalistic photography to both his clients and peers. Bryan has taught at the Professional Photographers of America national convention IUSA, PPA Super One Days and to State and Local PPA photography affiliates across the country.

He is an approved juror with the Oregon Professional Photographers Association and has taught classes on image competition as well. Bryan takes pride in helping aspiring photographers and enjoys following their successes in competition. He has received numerous merits and awards in image competitions on both a local and national level that include – PPA Loan Collections, Fuji MASTERPIECE Awards and Kodak Gallery Awards. His images and articles have appeared in Studio Photography and Professional Photographer magazine(s) as well as used in Nikon’s National advertising. Bryan has the Maters of Photography & Photographic Craftsman Degree from Professional Photographers of America (Cr. Photog.), is a Certified Professional Photographer (CPP), has the Fellow of Photography Degree from the Oregon Professional Photographers Association and is a member of the American Society of Photographers (ASP). Bryan also holds the status of an Approved Photographic Instructor (API) from PPA and has over 100 speaking merits. (EDU100)

Bryan is a Past President of the Oregon Professional Photographers Association and the elected PPA Councilor for the State of Oregon.

Discovering the Photographer within with Dennis and Cheri Hammon

The Art and power of Photography is envisioned by the Team of Dennis Hammon and Cheri Hammon. Joining forces as a couple and as a creative dynamic duo, together they are working to bring back the grace and the creative art of photography.

Dennis, has his Masters of Photography, Photography Craftsman, is Certified by PPA and also is a Fellow of American Society of Photographers, and has received the National Award for his service to professional photography.

Cheri, with almost 30 years in the photographic industry is one of 8 people in the World that possess all 4 PPA Degrees. Master of Photography, MEI, M. Artist, and Photographic Craftsman and is certified by the Professional Photographers of America. She also has her Georgia Fellowship Degree. Most recently Cheri was awarded the Fellow of Photography from the American Society of Photographers. Dennis and Cheri are 1 of 5 couple in the world to hold this degree together.

Cheri, with her vision, creates works of art for professional photographers across the country. Taking commissioned portraits from other Photographers, she transforms them into works of art, with her painter abilities, and outputs them onto desired media for the clients. She loves working on portraits, and like Dennis is striving to bring the creativity and beauty back into portraiture and the photographic world.

Dennis brings his 45 years of experience to the table. A Master Photographer and Photographic Craftsman, he is not one to rest on his laurels, he continually strives to learn new techniques and styles. His style of bold colors and line and design show in his style of portraits along with his limited edition of fine art images from around the world. He loves teaching and showing photographers lighting, composition, posing and refining their style of photography, Dennis believes in his “pay it forward” from years of learning from his mentors and those before him.

In their program, Dennis and Cheri will walk you through developing a fine portrait/ art business, the how and whys of it. Dennis will show and teach the skills of lighting, composition, and adding the techniques that Cheri uses in defining her images with the use of Photoshop and Corel Painter. An open book, Dennis and Cheri will share with you what is necessary to go back home and effectively produce this very popular and lucrative style of photographic art. This Style may not be for everyone, but you can apply the lighting and poses to yours workflow

Cheri in her program, she will take images from Dennis’s demonstration, show you her style of preparing the image, and retouch it and then transform it before your eyes into a work of art with her painter talent.

Day 2 – Sunday, November 3rd, 2019 State Image Competition Time: 9:00 am – 5:00 pm Location: HYATT PLACE DENVER SOUTH/PARK MEADOWS 9030 East Westview Road, Lone Tree, Colorado 80124

Image Submissions: Members pay $65 for up to 6 images. Non-members pay $75 for up to 6 images. You may add up to 4 more images for $10 each. A maximum of 10 images is allowed.

Entry Deadline: Nov 1st, 2019 at Midnight
